Move fast and break fewer things

The last few months have been a huge learning curve for us at GoSquared.

We’ve been growing the team and understanding what it takes to enable everyone to work at full speed to a core vision.

Picking up the pace.

In the past week at GoSquared, we’ve been pushing updates, improvements, and new features like crazy.

In one week, we’ve rolled out a ton of bug fixes to the GoSquared Dashboard.

We had some issues with performance on slower devices that were really making people unhappy. We even had issues where some people’s dashboards wouldn’t update reliably in real-time. All fixed this week.

Full Screen Map View.

We rolled out one of the most highly requested features our customers have been asking for - Full Screen Map View. This is a stunning piece of engineering and design. The Locations widget in Dashboard can now be maximised to fill your screen with a beautiful world map, including a daylight line that updates in real-time, and a list of the top locations you’re popular in right now. Watching the widget expand into a full screen view is addictive. We built and released this this week.

New Social features.

We’ve introduced a new suite of Twitter services that enable you to understand how Twitter is impacting your site in real-time. Instantly see a new tweet that’s driving people to your site. See how many people have retweeted it. Reach out to them and say thanks, maybe even follow them and connect with the people that are bringing you visitors and potentially customers. We released these great new features this week.

Entirely new Setup experience.

We rolled out a dramatically clearer, more intuitive setup experience. We removed a whole step from the previous setup process so that you can go from 0 to real-time in even less time. We made some great usability improvements and refined the whole flow so that first time customers get the best possible experience.

Improvements to Home.

We introduced a couple of great updates to the Home area so that you can now order all the sites in your account based on how many people are on them at any one time (concurrent visitors online), by their names, and by when they were added. They update and transition in real-time (using a great project called Isotope), so if you have a bunch of sites you can now use the GoSquared Home area as your mission control for seeing which are doing well. We rolled this out to our customers in the last week.

Pinger.

We introduced a new internal service called Pinger that detects which of your sites have their tracking codes installed and are able to send data to GoSquared, and also which of your sites are online or offline. Another really handy service that makes the experience of using GoSquared better than anything else out there. Again, we rolled this out to our customers in the last week.

You get the message. We’re moving faster. And we’re doing so by breaking fewer things and working together as a unit.

Whenever we can, we try to act now, not tomorrow.

Follow the GoSquared Blog for more updates on what we’re working on.
